The Best North Macedonia Beaches to Visit

North Macedonia beaches may not be the first thing that comes to mind when visiting the country, known for its rich history and picturesque landscapes. Especially as North Macedonia is land-locked! However North Macedonia’s incredible lakes and waterways offer unique beach experiences that combines natural beauty, cultural charm, with a sense of tranquility.

Struga Beach

Located at the point where the Black Drin River flows into Lake Ohrid, Struga offers boat rides, stroll along the riverfront and one of the best North Macedonia beaches. There are a number of small beaches around Struga, adorned with a number of cafes and restaurants, offering deck chairs, parasols and cabanas to customers. Our personal recommendation would be to check out Aquarius Beach and Lounge Bar Versus Beach on the west side.

Ohrid – Beach Labino

A short 20 minute walk from Ohrid Old town, is the secluded Beach Labino, surrounded by cliffs and lush greenery this pebbled beach offers a great scape in the hot summer months. While not a traditional beach with sandy shores, the lake’s crystal clear waters and pebbled beach provide a serene escape.

Ohrid – Beach Potpesh

Just a brief 10-minute stroll from Ohrid Old Town, Beach Potpesh presents an inviting opportunity for relaxation following your exploration of the Old Town. Boasting a secure swimming area, sun loungers, a restaurant, and the option to rent kayaks, the beach caters for everyone. However, it’s worth noting that during the summer months, Beach Potpesh can ne very busy.
